A true Texas
treasure, the Fort Bend Boys Choir has been an endearing and enduring
part of the community for
over twenty years. The organization has
flourished even though we have no permanent home for rehearsals,
auditions
and workshops. The Choir has always been dependent on the
generosity of the local area churches for providing
much-needed
rehearsal space. While we appreciate their kindness, the time has come
to establish a home of our own.
To commemorate our
twentieth anniversary season, a capital building campaign was formally
announced at the
annual Spring Concert on May 18, 2002 at Grace
Presbyterian Church in Houston. With a yearly gift of
$25,000.00
from
Mrs. Wanda L. Adams and the William L. Adams Memorial
Endowment, this
quest for a permanent home
is close to becoming a reality. Through the generous gifts of
other individuals and foundations, our Building Fund now stands at
$350,000! |
With the kick-off of this campaign, the organization
hopes to realize their dream of a home of their own. The facility will include
administrative, rehearsal and performance space for the 200 boys in five ensembles. In
addition, it will be a place for the many thousands of boys, now grown men, to come back
as alumni and continue to help make a difference in the lives of young boys. This will be
a place that our boys can come to and be themselves.
For over twenty years, the Fort Bend Boys Choir has proudly represented Fort
Bend County and the State of Texas through many significant venues. They successfully
accomplished this even though they have no permanent home of their own. If you are
interested in helping the boys have A Home At Last, please contact us to find out
how to make this dream a reality! |
