In
June 1997, the Tour Choir traveled to Denmark by invitation of the
Danish Royal School of Music for 10 days of cultural exchange, education
and performances. Their travels took them through the Danish
countryside of North Zealand, to the charming village of Slangerup,
located near the Swedish border. LIVE FROM DENMARK! was
recorded during their concert performance on June 8, 1997 in the
Slangerup Kirke (Ste. Michaels Church).
Imagine for a moment this quaint Danish village, with its 400 year
old
Slangerup Kirke. Outside, serene gardens of neatly cut hedgerows
are
outlined in hues of lavender and blue flowers. Inside, marble
floors, tall
back wooden pews, stained glass windows and high ceiling create
eminently natural acoustics.
Hear now, The Fort Bend Boys Choir, as they process into the church to
William Byrds, 'Non, nobis Domine'. Feel the ambience and
tranquility of this beautiful hamlet and ancient church as the boys
present, LIVE FROM DENMARK!
